Music became the weapon of the future again when Stephen Marley featured Wale Folarin and The Cast of Fela on (Made In Africa) track, off his 2nd studio album (Revelation Pt.1 - The Root Of Life) in 2011. You can check out the full video on Youtube.
Stephen Marley is the second son of the Legendary Bob Marley (now deceased) considered to be one of the pioneers of the reggae genre. Evidently, his legacy still lives on!
Stephen is informing you to educate & liberate yourself from the shackles of illusion.
Tafari Makonnen, popularly known as (H.I.M) His Imperial Majesty, Haile Selassie I was the 225th & last African Emperor of Ethiopia. He's the "Rastafari" most Jamaicans refer to on their songs today. . . .Hence Rastafarians. . . He died in 1975.
In 2012 Ab Soul referred to Selassie on his track (Terrorist Threats) featuring Jhene Aiko & Dan Brown where he mentioned "wish i could see Haile Selassie I/eye, maybe my sovereignty would still be mine"
He wished he had the wisdom of His Imperial Majesty.
Asides his exceptional leadership qualities and how he stopped Ethiopia from colonization by the Italians, he was a man of infinite wisdom, whose words were worthy of emulation. His quotes resonated and conveyed a principle of thought for the greater good.
You can look up his quotes though, you may just like one or two 😎
Just to butress, Ab-soul saying "wish I could see outta selassie eye, maybe my sovereignty would be mine" I think with that line he meant he wishes he wasn't under any of the control systems just as Selassie didn't give into the colonisation.
Great piece Yaddie...... keep the good work up
